Lessons From Blogvent: Finding My Writing Flow

This Blogvent challenge reminded me how much joy I find in writing regularly. It’s a lot like when I did the Ship 30 for 30 course—writing more often sparks something in me. But I’ve also remembered that writing every single day can start to feel like a chore, and that’s not what I want.

In 2025, my goal is to get back to writing 3 to 5 days per week. That feels like the perfect balance: consistent enough to keep the momentum but flexible enough to avoid the pressure of daily deadlines. The most important thing is creating stability in my life, including building a basic income and securing a place to live. Writing should enhance my life, not add to my stress.

One lesson I’m taking from this is that I don’t have to tie myself to rigid schedules to be productive. If I can’t stick to writing on specific days or times, that’s okay. Instead, I can use downtime to pick a writing prompt, use text-to-speech to capture my thoughts, and clean up the transcription when I have time. It’s a simple, low-pressure way to keep my writing going without overwhelming myself.

Blogvent showed me that I thrive with structure, but only when it’s realistic and adaptable. The joy is in the process, not the perfection. Moving forward, I’m embracing that balance—setting goals but staying flexible enough to prioritize what truly matters.

Here’s to more writing, less pressure, and finding joy in the journey. 😊
