Over the past year and a half, I have read over 150 books, 7 of which were on setting boundaries. Here are two books well worth your time:
π Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself
by Nedra Glover Tawwab, this book
– provides actionable and realistic advice
– advice on different areas of life, such as the differences in setting boundaries with family, partners, friends, and work
– has plenty of thought-provoking questions
– gives a diverse set of scenarios and backgrounds
– shares how cultural upbringing may affect lack of boundaries and its relation to overly people-pleasing
– helps you to understand your past to make better decisions for your future
– has an accompanying workbook, great for keeping track (I strongly recommend purchasing)
π Boundaries Updated and Expanded Edition: When to Say Yes, How to Say No To Take Control of Your Life
by Henry Cloud, this book
– helps the reader understand WHY boundaries are important
– provides a balanced approach to setting boundaries without being or appearing "selfish"
– offers real-life scenarios for which many of us can relate
– leaves the reader a feeling of being equipped to make even small changes to take better control of their life
Out of all of the books I read on boundaries, these two made a huge difference in my life, and I can truly say a transformational one!
