Last year, I experienced a health condition that affected my nervous system and speech. The first thing I had to let go of was Coffee. Hard to do, considering I’d been drinking coffee before 10yrs old. Surprisingly, the experience wasn’t as bad as I thought, and I experienced many positive transformations. Here’s what changed:
β
π£ Improved Speech
I have a speech impediment and occasionally experience apraxia. Hard to admit, but I had a coffee addiction, and though coffee did make my speech impediment worse, it was something I was never willing to let go.
β
π€°πΎReduced Gastrointestinal Issues
I experienced less bloating, less stomach pain after eating, better π©’s, and generally reduced stomach discomfort throughout the day.
β
β‘οΈ Increased Natural Energy
After the initial withdrawal from coffee, aka, a drug, the first 20 or so days without coffee, I naturally felt an increase in my energy. I thought it was impossible to gain energy, focus, or get anything done without having at least 2 to 3 shots of espresso per day.
β
πͺ Afternoon Slumps
I used to experience drowsiness and tiredness around 2 or 3 pm and always needed a coffee boost. After 40ish days, a simple walk, ice-cold water, or a quickly brewed green tea would help beat my normal afternoon slumps.
β
π Quality Sleep
My entire life, I’ve typically slept 4-6hrs/night, and most was spent waking up throughout the night and my mind racing. When I followed my proper night routine, I easily had 7-8 hours straight of quality sleep.
β
*I gave in a few times. However, I instantly regretted it after immediately feeling sick.
